Did you have the Golden Ticket? | East Cleveland City Schools Thanksgiving Giveaway

For the second year, the East Cleveland City Schools included a special ticket in our Fall Newsletter for families to receive a full Thanksgiving Dinner on us! Families gathered at Chambers Community Empowerment Center to turn in their "Golden Tickets" and receive their gifts. The process was seamless as Chambers admin and staff members guided cars through the roundabout in front of Shaw Stadium to collect an assortment of meal items including a Turkey, canned side items, desserts and beverages!

This effort was followed up the very next week with a grand expression of community care from Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne, County Councilman Michael Houser, East Cleveland Mayor-Elect Sandra Morgan, Ricky Smith of Random Acts of Kindness and Shaw Alum Jeff Clark of DTLR! In collaboration with East Cleveland Schools, they came back to Chambers to deliver an additional 400 Turkeys to the families of East Cleveland, helping ensure everyone could enjoy a Thanksgiving meal. We were honored to host them in a true display of how our communities can come together to support one another and spread kindness.
