Text Messaging (SMS/MMS) Privacy Notice — Enrollment Information Text Line

The East Cleveland City School District offers a dedicated Enrollment Information Text Line to help families request and receive information about enrolling students in grades K–12.

Information we collect

When you text our Enrollment Information Text Line, we may collect and store:

  • Your mobile phone number

  • The content of your text messages and our replies

  • Date/time of messages and basic delivery information

  • Any information you choose to include in your messages (for example, questions about enrollment steps, school options, scheduling, or required documentation)

How we use this information

We use this information to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and provide enrollment-related information and support

  • Follow up on your request when needed (for example, clarifying questions, office hours, appointment options, or links to official district enrollment pages)

  • Maintain service quality, training, and continuity of support

  • Comply with legal obligations and district records retention requirements (as applicable to public agencies)

Mobile information sharing / consent protection (10DLC compliance statement)

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers, text messaging content, or SMS opt-in/consent information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
SMS opt-in/consent is specific to East Cleveland City School District and is not transferable to another organization.

If we use vendors to support communications (for example, a text messaging platform and telecommunications providers), they are used only to help us deliver and manage district communications and are not permitted to use your information for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Opting out / getting help

You can opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP. After you opt out, we will not send additional text messages unless you re-initiate contact.

Message frequency varies based on your request and the conversation. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile plan.
